OWNER

Alex earned his BS in Physics from Bates College and went on to an MS in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a physics teaching assistant in grad school, sparking his interest in education, and his time spent in lending and member services at the UI Community Credit Union instilled in him a desire to help people be more proactive with their financial health. Originally a Horace Mann client, he became an agent in 2014 and opened Gold Star Retirement & Insurance in 2016.

When he isn't helping educators, Alex can be found playing piano for local schools, music directing for his local high school, or watching movies with his wife and their Havanese dogs.

AGENT

Cristina joined Horace Mann after more than 30 years as an elementary school teacher and math consultant. She attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a BA in Elementary Education, BS in Communications, and an MA in Adult Education. Professionally, she is looking forward to helping fellow educators with their financial futures.

In her spare time, she enjoys refinishing furniture, gardening, and dancing.

INSURANCE SPECIALIST

Nicole graduated from Coventry High School and attended URI and Johnson & Wales before earning her Property & Casualty insurance license. Previously, she worked at Liberty Mutual and Warren Nichols Agency, plus taking some time off to raise her children, before joining Horace Mann in 2022.

She says she's a PTO Mom for Life: the Former President of the Greenwood Elementary PTO, Former President of Winman Middle School PTO, and current President of Toll Gate PTSO. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two Chinese Crested dogs.

OFFICE COORDINATOR

Jen's experience as an elementary teacher in East Providence and Warwick public schools, as well as her time as a preschool teacher and Orton-Gillingham Dyslexic Trained Tutor, give her an appreciation of an educator's busy schedule and unique needs. She earned her BS from URI and Advance Degree in Elementary Education from Roger Williams.

Jen loves to travel, having studied abroad in the UK and skied in the Austrian Alps. She hopes to see more of the west coast sometime soon!
